So it looks like the Cats will have one of the top few picks, as long as their luck doesn't totally suck in the lottery. Who are some of the guys that are projected to go in those top 5 spots?

    High schoolers??
    the UNC boys??
    Utah's Bogut??

    depending on 2 things -

If Chris Paul comes out, and if Brevin Knight re-signs with them.

Knight likes Bernie, and Bernie likes Knight. He's 2nd in the NBA in assists per game, and he'd do better with some more weapons. The Bobcats have lost so many close games largely because they have no reliable scorer.

The Bobcats love Chris Paul. If he comes out, they will make every effort to draft him - including trading up to get the top pick if they don't have it. They figure to draft no later than 4th if they don't win the lottery, and will have Cleveland's first round pick this year as well.

So where do the Bobcats want to go? Get a great PG in Paul or a scorer to go with Knight and Okafor?

dunno, but NBADraft.net has the Bobcats drafting this guy 2nd

    http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/andrewbogut.asp [IMG]

    then a PF at 18

    http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/waynesimien.asp [IMG]

then another at the top of 2

a little much considering that our one real player is a PF/C

Personally, I'd have to get a PG, in theory first, and then I'd find a way to get a good dynamic 2G in the middle of the round. Okafor's good enough that a roleplaying center in free agency isn't out of grasp.

If Paul is available you definately got to pick him. He reminds me of Tony Parker.

    Is that a compliment?

As a Tarheel fan I would hate to see Marvin leave but, as a Bobcats fan there is no one I would rather have.

It would be nice to get Marvin Williams or Bogut with the first pick and Raymond Felton with Cleveland's pick. Not likely though.

Nate Robinson in the 2nd round would be nice, this guy reminds me of Muggsy and Kevin Johnson rolled into 1.

I don't know that there's a difference-making guard in that top 5 that'll necessarily impact as much as the big guys, which is a shame...would really like to get that guy first. Not that Paul isn't damn good, or the Carolina guys under him.

Really gotta come up with a clutch shooter. From somewhere.

Marvin Williams would be a nice selection. Bogut will bum out in the league IMO.

So are the Cats eligible for the top pick this year? And they receive full cap the year after next?

    Is that right?
