I am thinking the same thing, it's seems the past week everybody is saying we love Barnes and are taking him, which in most cases would be a smokescreen, but with the Bobcats, well you already have the idea. :crap:

I have finally started getting a little interest in the NBA again, so if they pick Barnes and he turns out to be total crap that may very well be the end of it for me.

If they take Barnes anywhere in the top five then MJ will catch hell for it. Surely they will not do that.

Assuming they traded the #2 to Cleveland for the #4 and #24 what would the goal be? Certainly they will still have a shot at a top player at #4. If Robinson does not fall that far either Beal or MKG will. The reason you do this though would be to add a quality player at #24. Who is likely to be there at #24 that would be worth doing this for?

Maybe the deal would be to swap first round picks with someone in return for a player or two. That might work but who would they acquire and would they be young enough to make sense?

How far could you move up if you package the 24 and 31 picks?

    18-20 range?

I hope they do not trade down below the #4 pick. I feel pretty good that the top four players in this draft are going to be good in the NBA. As long as they do not reach for a guy like Barnes or Drummond with the #4 it might work out well. There are some centers projected to go late in the first round who might be good additions to the team.

Drummond at 4 doesn't bother me as bad as Drummond at 2. He actually has the most upside of anyone in this draft not named Anthony Davis. However he needs to show more heart. He could be Dwight Howard or he could he Tyrus Thomas. If you can make him be Howard I'd be excited about that.

Given the draft history of this franchise I would stay away from players who are boom or bust type guys. The safer the pick the better the pick, IMHO.

Completely disagree. You knew exactly what you were going to get from Kemba Walker, which is a guy who should never be more than a backup point guard. That was a wasted pick. When you suck, you have to be more aggressive than that. Safe is what you should be when you intend to make the playoffs.

Interesting idea, but Charlotte needs so many players that I think you keep both picks and take a risk on guys who fall. I'm still pissed that MJ traded away the #40 pick from last season for cash. That made no god damned sense.

I am just hoping you have a better chance at getting a solid starter in the top 20 if you draft well. But if the Cleveland trades happens and you have the 24 and 31 pick, hopefully one of the two comes up decent.
