It's ok to say it Collin

    "I was wrong"

    :D

I just noticed he did 20 and 17 in 29 minutes - and 4 blocks. good lord.

Emeka had a good game though, only 1 foul :D

    I'll say it

    Collin was wrong.

    That wasn't so hard.

Not only is Nazr playing well he is doing a good job of communicating on the defensive side of the ball and trying to get players into position.

The contract is right in line with what a big guy makes in the NBA.

    2 starts and he is avg'ing 18.5 pts 11 reb 3.5blks

I in no way expect those numbers every night but, I think we clearly got the better end of this deal.

6.4 mill is what he will avg over the next 3 years of his deal. I can't think we could sign any other big man for that and have them have more of an impact.

Centers in the NBA that make around what he does are as follows:

Kendrick Perkins-Boston got a steal on this one. signed him to an extension after his career year of 5 pts and 5 rebs. Still young and getting better.

Erick Dampier will get 33 million over the next 3 compared to Nazr 20mil. Erick is avg'ing 4 points, 6 rebs and 1.3 blks this season

Nene will get 31 over the next 3 he has palyed in only 70 games over the last 3 seasons. Health issues have derailed his career but, the Nuggets are still on the hook for the 31 mil.

Marcus Camby- Denver only has him signed for 2 more years and at only 15.6 combined he may be the best bargain in the league.

Vladamir Radmonavic has an almost identical contract 6-010 but in no way a post presence.

Darko- makes about the same for 1 year less. I like his upside but, has done nothing with his PT in Memphis.

Mark Blount- 15.5 mil over the next seasons and is avg'ing 3 points and 2 rebs.

Dan Gadzuric 20 mil over the next 3 and is avg'ing 3pts and 3 rebs

Jason Collins- will make 6 million next year in the last year of his contract he avgs 1 pt and 2rebs

Jamaal Maglorie makes 4 million this season and will be a free agent next offseason avg'ing 2 pts and 4 rebs.

Samuel Dalembert3 years 34 million- 11 pts 10 rebs 3 blks and some upside still alot more than NAZR's deal.

Collin will have some well thought out excuse that he believes in his own mind is correct! He will never admit he's wrong, kinda like his father said he was never his kid! Runs in the family...............

Why the sad face? Are you a Bobcat fan or not?

Anyway, I'm man enough to admit I was wrong. I saw him in person tonight, row F. Love my gf for the early xmas gift :)

Love Nazr. There's no way he keeps this up, but he was everywhere tonight, and really freed up Okafor. It's too bad Emeka still has the offensive game of a five year old. Anyway, Cats obviously looked great tonight.

It was fun heckling 'Zeke too :)

edit: Defensively the Cats swarmed, and that was a direct result of having two competent bigs for the first time in their history. Most layups and dunks were heavily contested, and Curry/Randolph were held to 12 total rebounds.

edit2: Colin and I weren't dead wrong, for the record. Two wins and two solid performances though suggest we were being a little hard on the guy. Still, let's don't get crazy. Guys don't turn into All Star centers in their 10th year. He's playing great right now, and appears to be healthy and happy. Either way, he's absolutely demolished Primoz' contributions for the year, in only two games.

well I don't think anybody expects or said he would be an All Star. I doubt it is what the Bobcats expect either.

Serviceable is what they wanted and what they got.

It appears so, but time will tell.

And the price was still VERY high. But, much like Richardson, it appears Nazr is exactly what we needed. I didn't think he had anything left but he looked fantastic tonight. I've never seen him play better to be quite honest, although he had a strong season in ATL if I remember correctly.
