    BOBCATS SUMMER LEAGUE ROSTER

    Bobcats announce summer-league team

    Felton, May will play

Four carryover players from last season's squad, plus draft picks Raymond Felton and Sean May, will play for the Charlotte Bobcats' summer-league team in Salt Lake City this month.

Melvin Ely, Matt Carroll, Bernard Robinson and Tamar Slay are all scheduled to suit up in Fort Mill on Thursday, when the team will begin six days of practice. The 17-player squad will begin games at the Rocky Mountain Revue on July 15.

Felton's and May's presence on the squad is another indication they'll soon sign their rookie contracts.

Beyond the draft picks, the most promising newcomer might be Alan Anderson, a 6-foot-6 guard-forward from Michigan State.

The Bobcats will also bring in Jason Capel, a 6-8 forward who played for North Carolina. He's the son of Bobcats assistant coach Jeff Capel.

Among the carryovers, Ely and Robinson are both still under contract, Carroll is a restricted free agent and Slay is unrestricted. The Bobcats chose not to pick up Slay's option for the coming season, but invited him to summer camp. Slay struggled with injuries and inconsistency last season.

He'll never make the team, but I can already hear the ABCers whining about this one.

preparing for the inevitable...rofl. You got defensive about an irrelevant move without anyone even attacking it.

I don't give a shit either way about UNC. I watched them in the Tournament, and enjoyed watching them. My wife's a big fan. I'm just not going to bend to the knees to apologize for anything that has to do with them.

I'm also worried about our play at the 2 and 3. Hell, as it is, we're going with a very inexperienced 1. See, those things don't have anything to do with UNC, nor does my feeling that we didn't take the right player at 13.

Then like I've said before... who was a better pick at 13? Granger has a knee injury and Green is overrated and wouldn't show for a workout.

I've stated who I'd take - there were about five, including Granger and Green. Yeah, I still would've taken them. Because of their talent and our need, not their schooling.

Leach slipped in under the radar. You would think a home town kid would get some press.
