They really need to lock up Gerald Wallace since they have plenty of cap room. I have not kept up with the NBA in recent years so I am not sure who is worth a big money contract but with Wallace, Morrison and Felton on the perimeter and Okafor and May having a lot of injury problems I would look for a big man.

Billups and Lewis are the only two on that list that would be worth signing. I think Billups stays in Det and Lewis has wanted to go to Houston for years. Noccioni might be a good choice but I think they have that player in Walter Hermann. without looking cheap, the Bobcats shouldnt spend money just to spend it on a bunch of way-over priced FA's....unless Garnett would play in CLT.

they need to re-sign Wallace, but not a max deal. they need to keep Carrol also.

Garnett would be nice. Teaming him up with Okafor and May would be pretty sweet. Jermaine O'Neal would be a nice addition from a talent perspective but he apparently has a lot of baggage.

I do not want them to spend money just to spend money but they need to do something to improve. I would just as soon skip Vince Carter or Jerry Stackhouse, I know they went to UNC and all but they are not worth the price.

I'd be tempted as management to bring in Carter for a short term boost in talent and ticket sales. He'd help some with both. Admittedly he's not anywhere near the guy to get them to the NBA finals, but could be enough of a scoring threat to get them in the playoffs.

I'll pass on Vince Carter. he would score his usual selfish 25 a night, but no thanks. plus he robbing the bank right now. and it would be more fuel for the all UNC conspiracy.

he averages almost 5 assists per game and 6 rebounds. that's not particularly bad.

Vince Carter puts up big numbers, and the Bobcats need that. But he's not a guy that can carry a team anywhere, and the Bobcats need that worse.

Lets not kid ourselves, Vince has never been a guy who could carry a team

Oh I agree. Even at UNC that was Jamison's team, BUT I think he can put up flashy numbers and put people in the seats. and his additional scoring added to what the current roster has would probably be just enough to get the team in the playoffs. May be a first round exit, but it would spur enough attention to get people to go to the games. That should be the first effort of the franchise. Of course you want to win, but this isn't a team that's expected to be a contender any time soon. If they can turn it into a pretender, the band wagon fans will follow.

Doubtful. Like it or not, the Bobcats are a failure in Charlotte. It's time to abort this baby.
