when the emphasis of the franchise isn't on winning games, it filters down to the players.

They have a collection of talent that may or may not be good enough to win the D League. They could have Tony Robbins as the coach and it wouldn't matter. They lose because the other team is more talented, and unless they play really well and the other team is looking ahead, they're going to lose.

i guess i'm a subscriber to the idea that you shouldn't practice bad habits. going out there to lose is training guys how to lose. what's the point of that? once the culture of the team has become that of hopelessness, it's going to take a huge effort to reverse that. guys will leave asap -- at least, the ones with options -- just to put the experience behind them.

I don't think there's anybody on the team that would be devastating to lose...

exactly. this team sucks and will continue to suck until they either dedicate themselves to building a good team or luck into a couple mega stars via the draft and somehow get their shit together in the short window before those stars leave. that is, assuming the franchise doesn't fold before then.

In a league where it takes a monumental effort to lose by 30 or more points, the Bobcats make it look easy. Another loss at the Spurs 102-72.
