Pretty sure that Collin actually WROTE all of Dean's books...

 

I despise Knight but I don't see any malice in what he did this time. Can you imagine if a NBA coach tried this? He would get nailed back and then fired

 

This whole "incident" is total bullshit. If it had been any other coach, we'd never have even heard about it.

Stop making bullshit excuses, because it is (or should be) beneath you. It does not happen "more often than not," although other idiots have made the same excuse. In fact, Jay Bilas said much the same thing and Doug Gottlieb on ESPN challenged him to name even one coach he'd ever seen actually hit a player and he couldn't think of one besides Knight. I'm sure some others have, but it is certainly not common, it is certainly not acceptable, and it certainly shouldn't be brushed off just because some people happen to like that Bobby Knight is an asshole.

 

I think Knight is awesome, but he was way out of line here. If he had grabbed the kid, I wouldn't have had a problem with it, but popping him under his mouth with the top of his fist is BS.

And Dean certainly rode the hell out of some people and was tough as nails - that kindly grandfather image he got over the last 10 years of his career always killed me - but I can never, ever remember him laying a hand on a player in anger.

 

I know he has more UFC wins.

Y'know, I'm not saying that wife beating is ok - but it's worth noting that it was just a tap because she wouldn't look at me when I talked to her. That's disrespectful. Plus, my wife cooks so much better after a good smack. We are both old school like that. Now, before you get too upset with me.... I can tell you that in the years we've been together, I've made sure she improved herself. Educated her and such. And none of y'all are around 24 hours a day to know how good I treat her all the other times. You all just go batshit when the media actually - you know - catches me hitting her. Other guys do it all the damn time - but the camera never sees them. It's only a big deal when I do it. Maybe that's because I have a history of doing it - but it's probably the media making a big deal out of it just because it's me. So that media-out-to-get-me thing makes it ok for me. No matter how many times I do it. Plus, she says it's no big deal and swears if it weren't for me she'd probably be nothing right now. Besides, she knew what she was getting into when we got married.

I will, of course, just have to disagree with those of you that think wife beating is wrong.
