Say what you will about the new team the man has business savy... he seems to know what buttons to press to build interest around his team... he's making it "fan friendly" so far... and while I feel he still has a way to go to get the Charlotte fans totally back into the NBA fold, but he seems to be doing the right things to make that eventually happen

He seems fine now. I like the guy too. I don't want a hands on owner though. I would hire a great GM asap and build the supp cast. Bob has made the decision that an owner must make now he needs someone good to make the personell type decisions.

    Consider me UNimpressed.

1st, it was ......."I love me some Charlotte" back when they introduced the team name...........sorry, but that doesn't make any sense unless its his wife/girlfriend. If that's the case, why should I care who he loves?

Then I hear him on radio today......... "Even tractor pulls," Johnson told the crowd. "I'm going to go buy me a tractor! ... There is no one out there who will not find an exciting event in that arena when it opens in '05."

He sounded ANYTHING but convincing to me as far as "buying a tractor".

On the plus side..........he appears to have the bankroll and understanding that he needs to spend it but I'm having trouble accepting his public persona.

Myabe its just the people who tell him what to say that are really bothering me.

    I'll go along with that.

If he wants my attention (& $$$), he better put a respectable product on the court.

"Respectable" is not just from winning or staying out of the "Kobe-like" spotlight. Its a matter of how they play the game.

    My 3 grips with today's ARENA GROUNDBREAKI . . EEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, G-R-O-U-N-D-B-L-A-S-T-I-N-G . . . .

    1) The blast itself simply sucked    !!!!!!!! I thought a multiple explosion would've been better. I thought the explosion was going to take place at the big pile of dirt that was inside the fenced area where they were starting to do some excavation (the one closet to the BoA Corporate Center Parking Deck)

    2) GRAVEDIGGER should've done some tricks inside of this fence area vs. just sitting there for photo ops

    3) The CO$T/Anti-Arena Folks who were protesting once again (they held up the '57,xxx Said No!!!!' Signs over by the TV Trucks). Hey guys, its over . . The new arena is going to get built no matter how much you bitch & moan about it . . . Time to find something else to whine about   . . . . . Why not protest the city tax dollars that is going to GENERAL DYNAMICS to move one of their division HQ's here to Charlotte  ? ? ?

Hmmm, it looks like we might've missed each other by only a few minutes :) . . . . . He was still over there in that general pose when I walked by there . . .

So if you was running for office and got 57% of the vote then you saying it's okay to set that aside and let the other candidate have the job?
Just curious--not that I care about another losing bunch of whiney ass kids palming a basketball up and down the court or if they build 15 arenas and 14 more jails. Ain't gonna give me back my tax money regardless of what they build or do.
