I think you answered your own question. He doesn't develop his bench. Not many decent players are going to stay at dook in todays times and sit for all 4 years. If he had let Redick play 5 minutes less a game this year, a few things could have happened. Redick may not have burned out and sucked at the end of the year and MP could have possibly been another option on the bench.

if I was a center in college the last place I would want to go would be dook. they have a horrible track record of developing/retaining big men. they have who to teach them? wojo? LMAO

Zoubek will be the next big stiff to under acheive, languish on the bench, play no better as a senior than he does as a freshman likely to transfer center at dook.

Zoubek won't transfer. He is going to HAVE to play, even if Thomas comes. The ACC will be a lot tougher this year too. I can really only think of 2 other transfers leaving Duke since '99 (Chris Burgess and Michael Thompson). K does need to develop his bench, but then again he has won 3 national championships. It'd be easy to argue how he coaches if he was Sendek or somebody but he's won 30 games a season over the past 9 years. I think it'll be interesting to see how Boykin and Pocius play since they showed some potential. I thought Boykin gave decent minutes in the minutes he actually got to play in. I think people are also forgetting (much like people forgot about UNC's class last year because of Duke's class coming in) that Duke is going to have a pretty good class coming in. There's a reason why they are going to lose 4 (probably 5) of their top 7 players and still be ranked in the preseason top 15. Gerald Henderson will win freshman of the year in the ACC this year because he is going to be the go to guy. I think Nelson will score around 10 and Paulus will have to shoot more. Duke will be depending a lot on a 7 footer who no one has seen play if McRoberts goes.

Yeah, Brand and Boozer suck. You know who does suck? Haywood. Maybe your program needs to look in the mirror.

FWIW... Boeteng was a turd, and if Dook didn't need the depth this coming year, it would be addition by subtraction.

Somewhat agree (I think he was good enough to contribute offensively just bad defensively), next couple of weeks or days are going to be a little scary though.
