NFL extended the deadline until tomorrow.

I'd be surprised if it blacked out. Last year, we got our sponsors and advertisers to buy the tix. There was frikkin nobody at those games, and they didn't let it black out. It might be worth it for B of A to buy them all to have their big sign on TV.

I hope u r right, Meat! And I think it would be worth it to sponsors if that large of an area would be affected, and there were not all that many tix left.

Ummm, maybe JR should require the remaining tix at 5 mins. before deadline to be bought and divided by the players as a reward for sucking. Then they could give them to their friends to watch them play up close and personal. Maybe they'd get off their asses and play hard so they will sell out in the future, and not have to use some of their game pay to pay for tix.
Gilbert out to have to foot the bill for half the remaining tix just because of his salary to play negative ratio.

Hey, at least there are 8 away games we don't have to worry about being blacked out here.

Thanks bunk, i'll be sure to grab a sammich.

But seriously, It's only like $50k of tickets. Surely CBS local will lose more than that in ad revenue.

I don't see it being blacked out.

I think the I-F the game gets blacked out, it will be in CLT only. Back in 1995, I was able to get the games on WFAY (FOX affiliate in Fayetteville) in Laurinburg (I was working in retail down there at the time) . . . . You were still able to get the games in G'boro-Winston-Salem, Upstate SC, & Columbia . . . I think the Triad & Upstate SC are far enough away/seperate TV markets where they won't have to black out the games . . .

Anyone else see a problem with the fact that we're even having to worry about this 1st game of the season?

Granted, winning obviously brings fans. And we haven't been here long enough, nor have we been at all successful enough, in our short history to have built a large loyal base of fans that likes to show up just to watch the panthers. Whether we suck ass or not.

Here's hoping this baby sells out.

Think about this: Since this is only 1 of 2 Panthers games WBTV will get to air this year, and since its the home opener, I know they don't won't to get stuck with airing infomercials from 1-4pm. I'll bet you Greensboro based Jefferson-Pilot (WBTV's owner) either solo or with one of the Panthers big sponsors (i.e. Bank of America) will buy the unsold tixs to guarantee the game will be shown on TV Sunday . . .

You guys can always come over to my house to watch the game.

Just head right down I-95, turn right on I-4, take the I-275 S exit.Turn right on Dale Mabry, Go about 10 miles past Tampa Stadium and look for the the big Panthers flag. That'll be my house.

    Bring beer.:D

Hey, have you ever meet BAMA? He lives in Tampa and he cohosts a couple of sportstalk show down there. I think he's bumped into Sandy Penner a couple of times in person as well . . . He recently called into PRIMETIME this week and Pack invited him to come up for the Bama/UT game in October on the SOUTHERN FRIED FOOTBALL TOUR . . .
