    I didn't realize that Billy has called every FINAL FOUR since 1975 . . . He's pretty much has been the voice of ACC hoops over the same amount of time pretty much. Yep, without a doubt he hates the NBA for ruining the college game (I guess he won't be buying season tixs for the new NBA team here :rolleyes: :rolleyes: ) . . . How come its OK in other sports like hockey, baseball, & tennis for players under 20 to go pro and make money but not college hoops :mad: :mad: ? Yes, the skill level has gone down hill, but still what obligation does a 18 year old kid have to go to college for 4 years just to make college purist like Billy Packer happy :mad: :mad: ? ? ?

    Packer Backer - I hate the little shit.

    Ands now he has Al McGuire disease - he misses calls and will rail about them for minutes.

    and he has become the master of the obvious.

    And when he called ACC games back in the day he wasn't worthy of carrying Jim Thacker's luggage.

    I don't get it. I have never heard anybody say they like Billy Packer. I think people just say they hate him because everybody says they hate him. I'd rather listen to him than just about any other announcer I can think of. Dickie V gets on my nerves and he's a Duke fan. Dan Bonner gets on my nerves, I hate Tim Brandt, in fact, I can't think of many people that call the game that I like. Brad Daugherty is pretty good for a Tar Heel.

    I think Packer gets a bad rap. He's a Wake Forest alumnus and is anti-UNC, so he can't be all bad. :D

    i agree ss, i dont mind the guy at all- i dont think he's great, but he doesnt bother me.

    He's a pompous jackass that has always turned the other cheek when the heels are playing. We are never deserving of a call in his opinion.
