What I find funny is that many people hated when the ACC picked up BC and Miami because they didn't supposedly fit the geographical mold of the conference...i.e. a southern based conf.

Yet, the ACC stands for "Atlantic Coast Conference" which the Atlantic Coast on the last map I looked at runs from Maine to Florida.

If there's going to be a major shift, then I wish we would make a run at WVA, Pitt and Louisville. A school like Georgetown has the most to lose out of this.

What I think will be funny is if the ACC gets a taste of its own medicine it decided to give others several years ago. What goes around comes around I guess.

The Big Ten would still need one more school and Pitt is supposedly high on their list. Based on everything I've read, West Virginia's academic situation makes them pretty much radioactive. Louisville and Cincinnati would both be pretty solid adds I think.

    Add:
Uconn (great hoops plus up and coming football)
WVU ( great football/fans, great hoops, scary academics)
Pitt ( if for some miracle they're still out there)

    Pass:
Syracuse (horrible for a while now)
Ecu ( no 5th NC school, please)
Cinci (even scarier academics than WVU)

    Maybe:
USF / UCF ( potential florida schools to replace FSU or Miami)
    Louisville ( eh ?)

Not sure where we come up with 16 schools if we have to replace a few

Looks like ESPN beat out Fox Sports for the ACC. 1.86B over 12 years.

Yep. $155 million a year. Nice double up for the conference. It doesn't approach the size of the SEC deal where ESPN coughed up $150m and the broadcast football package brought in close to $55m a year on it's own.

Just sitting around waiting on the detals now.

Just saw the news. Great get for the ACC. Still about $5mil less per team than the SEC, but this deal expires three years before the SEC deal.
