The Sox are so in his head right now. If I was a Yankees fan - well I'd just kill myself so it wouldn't really matter - but if YOU are a Yankees fan you should be worried.

It all started last July. He's blown 6 of his last 7 chances against the Sox, including 2 in the ALCS. Not exactly the type of record I would want against my main rival for my division or the pennant.

They play early next week I think. I'm just saying that if Mo falls off - even a little bit - the Yanks are hosed.

Can't buy the best guy during the middle of the season and they don't have squat to trade.

I think I'll worry about the Sox pitching before Rivera. Timlin and Embree scare me. And fuck David Wells. He's absolutely gushing over Rivera in the post-game, defending him after he gets booed by the NY fans. Is that his job? If I'm Francona, I keep him out of any more Yankee series, if at all possible.

Timlin and Embree will be just fine. I didn't see the comments by Wells - but that booing was just plain low class. Almost as bad as Torre trying to blame it on Sox fans. WTF was up with that?

timlin is older than dirt and it seems like Embree struggles to hit 90 anymore. They may be just fine, but they're at the point where that's not a sure thing. Let's hope they're OK, because John Halama isn't much of an insurance policy.

I agree the Spankee fans shouldn't be booing Rivera, but I don't think it's Wells place to defend him. I dunno, the whole Yankee obsession thing with him (wearing No. 3, wtf) bothers me. Michael Kay, YES network play-by-play guy, made the comment during Game 1 that Wells, if given the choice today (Monday), would pitch for the Yankees. I believe that, and it wouldn't surprise me if that came right from the horse's mouth. Didn't much care for the way he was chuckling while he was getting shelled either.

If you were reading the Globe and herald during the offseason, and I know you do, you noticed that the celebration from the World Series bled right into the start of spring training. I'm thinking the Sox are gonna get pushed around for the first month or so.
