I would say that the ACC would win a challenge despite the impressive year that the Big East is having. The lower level of the Big East is not as good as the lower level of the ACC IMO. Still, I think it would be fun to see them have a challenge instead of the ACC/Not so Big 10.

dumbest statement ever. the exact opposite is more true.

connecticut, pitt, lousiville and marquette or villanova are a little better than UNC, Duke, clemson and fla state.

top to bottom, ACC may be stronger, but only because of those extra four teams the BE has. Big East's top 12 is much stronger than the ACC, top to bottom.

again, this isn't something I'd expect deluded homers like Fever and UNCBendsOverandTakesHansbroughSack-DeepinthePooper to grasp. But it's still the truth.

Of course it is, it's the top 75% of the league vs. an entire league. that wouldn't be an equal match up. I think the BE is a tougher league, b/c there are more quality teams, but that happens when you have 16 vs. 12. I think if there was a match up, the BE would ultimately win, just not by a large margin, but they'd win, unless they were some slighted match ups with Mid to high level ACC teams against the BE's last four.

These are the only two leagues I watch, and as a Duke fan, I give the nod the the Big East this season. It would have been a no brainer if Georgetown could have sustained their early season play. It would be great to have a challenge at the beginning of the year like we used to. The Big Ten has proved no match for the ACC over the years.

I'm not ready to say the Big East or the ACC is better THIS year. These are the numbers, this year, though:
The ACC is 10-6 against the Big East this year, 40-33 against the Big East over the last five years, and 84-60 against the Big East over the last ten years.

Those are facts. The rest is just opinion and speculation.

I agree a challenge would be great, but which teams are you going to leave out of the challenge from the Big East? It would have to be a rotation, so there would be years where good teams would be out and years where horrible teams would be out. So, even then, I think there would be nay-sayers either way. We should probably all compromise and just say they're pretty close to even. But, then again, this is theargumentboardthatrocks.com, so continue on.
