big east expansion

    so, have you guys talked about what happens to C-USA when marquette, xavier and louisville leave for the big east?

    well unofficially Marq, UNCC, ST Louis, and Depaul have a oral agreement and hand shake to stay together. :rolleyes: that was reported by the Observer a couple weeks ago. I think the idea of a 16 team conference is not credible. Andy Katz reported this and he is wrong plenty. See: Crean going to Kansas and leaving Marq.

    I'm almost sick of it. I'm waiting til I have all of the facts. Supposedly Larry, Us, Depaul, marquette and St. Louis have a "handshake agreement":handjob: to stay together.

    I guess we'll end in some form of the A10 if all of the worst hoops schools leave CUSA.

    I've just resigned myself to the fact that until the ACC & Big East finish their ego trips, there isn't much for Niner fans to do.

    However, the eventual fallout will speak volumes about our Athletic Department and their future.

    Since football ain't happening (for awhile), Judy Rose will have lots of 'splaning to do to this season ticket holder if we end up with a bunch of hyphenated hoops schools that haven't sniffed the tourney in years.

    86, I am hoping for status quo, let the ACC take Miami, and the BE and CUSA stay as they are.

    My post from the Cincinnati board. Very likely IMO, if Louisville and Marquette leave. For the love of God, if we don’t get totally screwed by this realignment, we need to start football NOW so we aren’t screwed by the next one. We’d be a near lock for a 12 team all sports Big East if we had football.

    I have not said this yet, but I have to go off on John Swofford. That sonofabitch needs to get all his ducks in a row next time before he starts toying with a bunch of people's athletic programs and aspirations. I know the FSU guy supposedly leaked these negotiations, but it is time for them to make a freakin decision so all of us will know what the hell is happening. This is low class! It is driving us nuts, and I am sure it is making people like Judy Rose sweat bullets. I hope Swofford has lost some respect from his colleagues on this botched process, and they let him know that it is unappreciated. :mad:

    Yes she will. She can scratch my season tix/donation off of her list if we take a step backwards. I am not going through another stint with the sunbelt or the like. It has been a long and tough road to get to were we are and a step backwards is unacceptable.

    news just broke that the acc will ask virginia tech to join the league as the 13th member now.

    wonder how that messes with things.
