I have heard theories on this from different places. I have heard one similar to yours too. I am not sure anyone can really tell you what is going to happen and when. I do believe there will be a rapture and that it will happen before the really bad stuff starts to take place.

i did several very in depth end times bible studies from both angles. the 7th day adventist version is the one that has the least holes and gaps in the story. the do a very good job of keeping thing in a scriptural context using the original languages. it was very eye opening.

I do not know much about the seventh day adventist view on prophecy but I know I disagree with some other areas of thier beliefs.

if you ever feel open minded enough to challenge conventional christian thinking endulge them in a long term bible study. you find it very educational. their fundimentals are the same as every other denomonation but they are strich protestants.

    Armageddon has some legitimacy. :)

Yes, I do. But I also agree with Hank Hanegraff when he says we've been living in the end times since about 33 A.D. :wink2:

I'm glad that you got it Spud...I was giggling when I typed it, believe me ;).
Yes, that's it - and thanks Banjo. I might pick up a copy and work my way through it...I've been interested in that book for quite a while :).

Thanks too HB...so you're not a fan of the BC then? Hmmmm, how about if I do a bit of a book review?

It's alright lovey, I'm kidding. *Huge sighs of relief from HB's side of the world* :D.

I do not know a whole lot about them but I do know they still observe the sabath which they correctly place on saturday. It is my understanding though that the sabath was only meant for the jews. Most christians meet on sunday which is "the Lord's day" and not the same as the sabath.

I do not knock any religion that spreads the gospel. If people are getting saved under their ministry then they are doing God's work.

If you feel froggy, HG, JUMP! :xyzthumbs :D

Seriously, though, if you want to read it and start a thread on it, I'd be most interested to hear what you have to say on the subject. :)

I've seen too many documentaries using similar methods to make the same kinds of "discoveries" in great works of literature like Moby Dick and War and Peace. I think the premise is, all you need is a book that's long enough and a really powerful computer. Not too much in the way of supernatural about it, at least not that I've seen so far. :wink2:

The issue of "the Sabbath" is quite an interesting one, probably needing a whole thread just to itself.

Basically, it seems like the Sabbath was created at the end of creation. God created the earth in 6 days, and rested on the seventh day. This day was made special by God (actual wording is, "hallowed, because God rested and blessed it").

If indeed God "created" a special Sabbath day to rest on the seventh, then the Sabbath was made before there were any Jews on earth. In fact, in the same way that everything else created in the previous six days was made for every human being, the Sabbath, which was made on the seventh day, was created for all humans.

Nowhere does the Bible state that the Sabbath was changed from the seventh day of the week to the first day. There just isn't any Bible passage that makes that change.

The keeping of the first day of the week as the Sabbath basically came from tradition.

I have tons of information on this topic, if you want more. This is just a simple summary of it. :xyzthumbs

The jews were commanded to observe the sabath and keep it holy. Christians are not necessarily under that command. Most churches I have been in do not call sunday the sabath, they call it the Lord's Day.
