a limp win over tulane will do wonders for the rest of the season. It should humble them up good, as it will drop them in the rankings as well. Leave the bullshit talk about running the table to folks on ESPN and fans.

    Now they gotta hold on.

we escaped with that win. This will actually help the pirates I think and cause them to not get as big headed any more. This wont drop them in the rankings any. they stopped using margin of victory years ago.

ecu probably was looking ahead to the NCSU game....this is the kind of shit that has kept ecu down for years, they would rather concentrate on winning a "State Championship" than making themselves a national consideration....Hell, they measure the success of their season on whether or not they beat UNC or NCSU. Sad really........

I will be highly shocked if they are still in the top 15 when the new rankings come out. Georgia dropped in week one after a win, as early season polls are all about looking good. ECU has no more sexy teams to play on their schedule, so late wins against C-USA or shit ACC teams won't keep them as the ESPN darlings.

They have to win impressively to stay as high as they are as they get into C-USA play.

but margin of victory is not used in the computer rankings. Which means that when it comes down to BCS rankings the 3 point win over tulane will not matter.
