I say this will be sort of a mini Brady year with some 6th round-type ending up as the best QB from the class. I would say a guy like yates or dalton, but it will probably be some guy we haven't even mentioned here

For pure NFL QB skills I'd go with Mallett. I know we aren't going to take him but I've liked what I've seen of him. He has his flaws without a doubt but he does have a cannon for an arm.

You're really that high on Kaepernick?

Huge arm strength is often a bad thing, simply because guys get used to winging it downfield and therefore develop bad habits by trusting that "cannon" to make plays. From a fantasy football perspective, I'm all about Mallett simply because he has that "fuck it" Grossman attitude where he wants to take chances (whereas fans hate Clausen because he never wants to take risks), but I think Mallett loses you as many games as he wins, if not more.

MMQB mentions Jon Gruden's ESPN special where he breaks down the QBs, and it reminded me that he was by far the hardest on Clausen.

Gruden certainly seemed to have a man crush on Locker.

I'm high on him, but it's more that the other options are also awful. I don't think of him as most talented, but I think he has a real shot at being the better player.

Guys like that just aren't it anymore. With he and Cam, and all in this class, they can all make the throws. accuracy should be much more important
