  1. Sand, I think that the addition of Chandler to Chicago could start a QB controversy there. I watched Jim Miller "lead" the Steelers - one game, a loss, and Cowher dropped him like a three inch putt.

Chandler has a great QB coach (Brodie), and if he isn't too punchy from all those concussions, I think he'd be a better choice for Da Bears.

It will be a tough one to beat Green Bay for the Division.

New England and Pittsburgh are Division winners too.

Probably Oakland and Miami (let's see if a real running game makes Fiedler better) too.

    Definitely Carolina.

    Few things...

Turbo - The only real quibble I had with Chicago last year was their lack of throwing the ball downfield. Those 2 Packer games were painful to watch as the Bears kept completing 3-5 passes per possession and STILL punting after gaining 12 yards. Drove me nuts...

Piper - You are right about the Cle D. And Green is a stud. I just hope they have a guy to folllow him around off the field. I think he has straightened his shit out though.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. When it comes to the NFL, I will take into consideration the following: tips, "inside info", theories, ideas, superstitions and just about any other tidbit I can get my hands on while making a wager. :) I also like to start early. :D

I think the Panthers will be the most improved team this year... while that's not saying a LOT its GREAT to lay the foundation for 1 to 2 years from now

I'd pick the Skins, in all seriousness, if I was convinced Ramsey will be efficient, and Spurrier's O will work from the get go.

Good running game. And say what you will, but that's one hell of a fine looking defense they are putting together. Trotter is just a stud. I can't figure out why Philly didn't just lock him down. Marvin Lewis has some seriously good toys to play with.

Dallas' D is coming on, but their corner play is still real suspect. Not sure what Glover has left, and they better hope he does with the money Jones paid him. On the flipside, they got a steal with Kevin Hardy. All of the sudden, the Dallas linebacking core is very, very good.

I think the Giants are going straight to hell. In fact, both New York teams highly suspect right now. They may get a Super Bowl out of pitty.

According to Mel Kiper (and others), Marco Columbo isn't a reach - he's a great player who went later because of the needs of the other teams.

Remember, as much as we put so much stock in the Q-back, the R-back and the receivers - the real key to a great offense is the o-line. The last few super bowl winners have proven that you don't NEED a huge high-draft quarterback to win it all. If you have a good running attack plus great defense, your qb only needs to be adequate.

Also, again according to Mel Kiper, he considers Alex Brown a steal in the 4th round. He couldve gone in the 2nd round, but fell to the Bears.

BTW, I heard Mel Kiper Jr today during an interview at ESPN Radio and he gave the Bears a high "B" grade in their drafting.

I don't put a whole lot of stock in Mel's analysis. I'm still laughing at Haynesworth's slide. His post draft analysis is suspect as well, praising players he otherwise ignored before.

IMO, he was a big first round reach for need, and Pearson would have been a better pick and projects better to the left side long term. If yall resign can Brockenmeyer though, and let Columbo compete for the RT or guard spots, that might work out better. Maybe after Brockenmeyer doesn't see a line of teams waiting for his services, he'll be more inclined to negotiate.

Agreed on the philosophy behind the O-line, just don't believe that Columbo is a healthy choice short term for Chandler and Miller.

Agreed that Brown was a steal. But he's first round talent, his lack of work ethic made him fall. I expected big things from him this year, after he's tore up my Vols on several occassins. But he just never turned it on.
