these guys have a genius for writing dialog. i wonder how much is improv. eugene levy is dryest comic ever, chris guest is brilliant in his ideas and writing, micheal mckean is great at turning a line, the rest of the cast of these three movies roll so far off the beaten path my sides hurt. wah hoppin'd. and the actual music in mighty wind kicked ass, the lyrics were too fucking funny.

A great deal of it from what I've seen in stories about them. These movies probably could not be made by any other group of folks. Good stuff.

Spinal Tap is in my top 5 all time favorite movies. The other two were very funny. A Mighty Wind had exactly 3 funny parts.

Spinal Tap at least. I agree with Sly that it's the best one of the bunch.

Almost all. I got the DVDs and listened to the commentary. For the "interview" scenes, they were given a rough topic and what they needed to hit and just rolled film. Most scenes that were 30 seconds were cut from 5-15 minutes of "dialogue"

The lyrics of the theme song are great.

"A mighty wind is blowing, blowing cross the sea, a mighty wind is blowing you and me...."
