    I'd always heard it about the WS, it being the goal of every single season, not simply beating the Yankees. I'm sure they have to have won a series against the Yankees at some point in 85 years, there's no way the Yanks and Sox would face in a WS, and if they'd won the series without facing the Yankees nobody would be bitching about the curse still being there.

    There were people who felt as if the Sox had won the Series but had not gone through the Yankees that the whole thing would have been cheapened somehow.

    I do not care, I just want them to win the Series.

    That is what is so crazy about this whole thing. There is not one Red Sox fan who was not pissed about not getting A-Rod, and even more pissed when the Yankees did get him. But it turns out that he was exactly the same ype of person that led to the types of failures in the past and the whole 25 cabs attitude. The reason why these guys made it was that they wouldn't give up on each other. Eventually the fans picked up on that and brought them to a whole other level. It's eerie.

    Look at games 4 and 5 from Fenway and you will see that half the players were pointing at the fans when they celebrated at home plate. They got it.

    cheapened isn't the word i would use for it, but it would make it much sweeter beating the yankees along the way. no denying that.
