Run Lola Run might not have a huge following, but great movie and gets a lot of chatter round here.

City of God is a great flick.

office space is way more cult than napoleon dynomite. nd got a lot of hype. office space didn't (that i recall).

monty python has definite cult followings, but i think they're too popular to be truly cult.

evil dead series is a good choice, tho.

    john waters definitely cult.

    slingblade, not so much.

comedies have a leg up on cult status because you can watch them over and over. dramas aren't really the same.

my personal fav, tho i doubt there's much of a cult following, is brain candy (kids in the hall). did absolutely nothing at the box office, but it's amazingly funny. and i don't even like the kids in the hall.

Shawshank Redemption is one of those big budget ones that spread more thru DVD release. I dont know anyone that saw it in the theatres. And it gets quoted and references in other movies like nobodys business.
