He likes chicken. I like steak and beef. So I wanna cook him soemthing he'll enjoy without a lot of fuss. Not really into the chicken/pasta thing. I can go to Olive Garden for that. Any ideas?

    wraps...

fajitas, quesadillas, soft taco....lots of cheese, maybe some sauteed onion, pepper...whatever. works for both chicken or beef...and even shrimp. you could queer up a quick guac and/or some fried rice and you're all set.

just shove a can of beer or fruit juice up it's seasoned ass and stand it up on the grill over indirect heat for about an 1.15 hrs

or simmer favorite parts with white wine, stock, mushrooms, tomatoes, capers, onions, peppers, basil, marjoram, bay leaf & garlic for an hour after browning & serve over pasta or rice

How about a chicken Kiev type thing? Here's what I do (it's a bit naughty on the fat content though - but it's tasty). Get some boneless chicken breasts or legs (bone in). Get a bowl, and whack in some softened butter (lots of it), chopped garlic (fresh - never that minced pre done stuff), and some finely chopped fresh herbs (parsley, sage, thyme...really, anything that's growing and fresh - don't bother with the dried crap). Mash it all up, and add some salt (if you fancy) and freshly ground black pepper). Pop it in the fridge so it hardens up a bit. I make mine really garlicy, but do it to taste. When the garlic herb butter has hardend up a bit, divide up the butter mix between how ever many pieces of chicken you have. You can either make an incision right in the meat, or slip your fingers under the skin and slide in the measured out butter. Use your fingers for this - forget utensils, it's far too fiddly for that. I usually just work it over the meat and pat it out a little so it's even. Be careful that you're not so rough as to break the skin away from the meat...that's going to be a pain in the bum if that happens. A sprinkling of Garlic Salt over the meat before cooking is also really divine. Right - you can go so many ways with this - if you want, you can put a seasoning over it, or drizzle some oil over it, and sprinkle over dried chicken stock, or just leave it plain and bake it like it is. Pop it in a moderate oven (for around 30 - 40 minutes) - I usually cover it with aluminium foil for the first bit, then take it off to crispen it up. Might pay to put a bit of extra butter or oil in the baking dish as well - although the butter mix will melt and moisten the pan somewhat, it's nice to have that bit extra. When you serve it, spoon over a bit of the additional juice from the pan. You could either serve it with scolloped potatoes and a light salad, or seasonal vegetables. It's really piss easy - and you can tickle it up or down, if you fancy. You could also wrap bacon around the chicken before baking. The garlic and herbs in this really come through - and the butter helps moisten the chicken. Good luck Builder!

That's as good a BBQ sauce around here as I have ever found. I grew up in Whiteville, not too far from Wilmington, which is where that stuff is made. If you want to go a step above, stop at Joe's BBQ in Whiteville (HWY 701) and get a whole jug of his sauce. As good as Carolina Treet is, his is better.
