Yea, and the Dukies never do shit in the league period. I thought Latteners shot was simple turnaround and doesn't deserve distinction.

    L. Charles dunk meant more and was bigger IMO.

While it was not a buzzer beater, Jordan's shot to help the heels seal a national title against Georgetown... I believe, IMO - best clutch shot in college basketball. It had historic ramifications as Patrick Ewing went on to be Jordan's bitch the rest of their NBA careers.... :D

the reason that Laettner's shot was so amazing was that it was a full court play in 2.9 seconds. There wasn't a damn person that thought duke had a chance after UK scored. Grant hill threw a beautiful pass. Laettner's had nuts big enough to dribble and then shoot a turnaround jumper.

Impact wise, yeah lorenzo charles should probably win. but, when you shoot a shot short like that, teams tend to screw up their box out and that leaves somebody open on offense.

Jordan's shot was NOT a buzzer beater. Georgetown still had plenty of time to go down court and hand james worthy the ball.

okay then savio here's some college carolina buzzer beaters for you :

My vote goes for Walter Davis' running 40 footer as time expired to send the UNC/dook game to overtime in 1974. No 3-pointer back then. That was the shot that capped the 8 points in 17 seconds that is so famous. Again note this was done without 3 pointers, and yes UNC won the game.

My next Buzzer beater goes to Bobby Jones for his midcourt steal and driving layup as time expired to beat dook in 1973???

sweet - two buzzer beaters - two dookie losses.

Number 3 goes to Dudley Bradley - 1978. Carolina owned State all day but State staged a furious comeback and actually took the lead late , after a Carolina miss - Clyde the Glide Austin was near midcourt with seconds left when Bradley picked his pocket and drove in for a monster slam as time expired. The moment was captured for eternity on the cover of SI. Austin was reduced to tears on the court as a result of the steal.

3 Carolina buzzer beaters - all in college.

BTW - Please note that all 3 Carolina players mentioned went on to have STELLAR NBA careers. :D;)

    :p
