on top of everything else, my mom has this. she has been prescribed meclizine (as needed) but she hates it. its a histamine blocker/motion sickness drug and leaves her feeling spacey and restless. as you may or may not know, she is living with us for the time being after having suffered a severe stroke back in october. she has awakened us in the middle of the night on several occasions due to vertigo (that always happens in bed :banginghe ). we have kinda tricked it in a way by proping her head up with three pillows while she sleeps and she hasnt had an espisode in nearly a month. another strange coincidence is that it sometimes precedes the onset of a urinary tract infection. this has happened three times since february, the last being about a month ago also. its bad enough to really freak her out when it happens.

    do you have vertigo mike?

my wife is dealing with it now...just came on like 2 weeks ago. doc told her that it is BPPV. I found some info on the web about it. Her eyes were dancing around in her head a little while ago and freaked my ass out bad.

Rubbed her head and she seemed soothed a little and fell asleep. She also has a heating pad under her neck, which seems to help also.
