Really? I'd actually be surprised if they took McGahee over Rogers. If I'm Detroit, I don't pass on the best WR to come out in YEARS as Harrington's go-to guy. They already have a decent (albeit unspectacular) back in Stewart.

i'd bet on WA to trade up with Cincy and take Palmer. wasn't Spurrier trying to deal for Harrington last year?

Nope. Spurrier seems pretty comfortable right now with LAST years first rounder, Ramsey, with good reason. Ramsey played some damn good ball for a rookie. I could see Washington trading up for Rogers or McGahee, but not a QB.

i could get a little excited about trading for McMahon, but he'd probably cost us a 2nd. but he'd be a whole lot cheaper than it would cost us to get Manning. if we got both McMahon and Johnson (WR) and a RB and TE somewhere, I'd be pretty pumped.

That would be fucking sweet. McMahon has looked pretty fucking decent if you ask me.

1 outa 3. pretty decent for an amatuer, if i do say so myself.

MaGahee looks to me to be the real thing to me and unless Rogers is the next Rice, I'd take him and trade Stewart to the Panthers.

Didn't realize that Ramsey had looked that good. Even so, would Synder still try to pull this off just cuz he likes the limelight? and trade Ramsey to the Panthers.

    Seriously...

    Back to Larry Johnson

Several things would have to happen before I would consider a RB on Day one of the draft.

1st.) I have to see Lamar Smith released.
2nd.) I have to know DeShaun Foster is done (not speculation from us boardies based on our Microfracturaphobia.)
    3rd.) Henning stays or goes.

And still I wouldn't consider Johnson with the #9. Trade down and get Johnson and something sure.

Am I still a "fuck ass"?

    No shame in that.

Agree that Rogers would go over McGahee, in logic. Stewart is adequate. Their receivers really aren't. But if they get worried about instant production (which Rogers, IMO would have) they may go for the back. He does fit what they do, and he could have a good season both rushing and receiving in that system.

So it's hard to say. I could make a case for either.

I'd probably not go higher than 3 for McMahon. But I'd do that, if we were after Delhomme but didn't get him. Mike's got that heart and swagger of Jim McMahon. Neither were terribly talented, though.

The more I read here the more and more confused I get about what we should do.

Now I'm thinking we move up to #1 and get our QB. I'll change my mind about that I'm sure because I HATE to give up high draft picks for anything.

Palmer looked damn good though and would give us a good weapon that could start fairly early in his career. Maybe we can sign some FAs to fill some offensive holes. The Panthers could do just about anything right now.

Also, are the Panthers really a wheel and deal type of staff? Doesn't really seem that way to me. Seems like they want to stay put and take em off the board. Oh well, I do know they can't wait for a QB forever.

I'd offer #9 pick, a 3rd a 4th, and a 6th for the #1 pick. I think Cincy might just take that offer to get out of the #1 slot. That would be cheap and we keep our #2 pick. That would be ideal IMO.

  7. Trust me, Millen fired Bill Tobin because they saw thing differently last year...Millen wanted Jammer, Tobin wanted Harrington...Bill Ford Jr broke the tie. This year, Millen has pretty much said he'd take mcgahee if he comes out, if not, he'll take Rogers or trade down...reason being, Stewart is gone (salary cap and age) and a speed RB affects the whole defense, a wr only affects half the field and harrington needs a legit speed running threat to keep the heat off.

They also are not trading McMahon...why would they? they have a good backup at a 5th round price. It actually wouldn't surpise me if eventually mcmahon becomes the better qb vs harrington.

if someone made the right offer they'd trade. he's not going to be happy sitting behind Harrington for long. it might take a little more than our second pick. if we can't get Manning, i'd love to see us at least make a play for McMahon.

I originally thought the Cincy would trade down, but if the Bengals really are putting out feelers already, I will have to change my mind. One would think they'd try to give the impression that they are hooked on a guy and hold the pick hostage. Coming off eager to trade wouldn't benefit them, the offers would have less punch.

As for the Panthers, I am swaying toward WR in the first like Johnson or Lloyd (depending on combine positioning) and getting a back like Forsey a little later, maybe in the third.
