Just based on common sense really. We need a top back. I don't think Fox wants a young QB he has to develop. I don't think he believes in spending a very high top pick on WR. I also don't think he can pass on offense and go defense again.

Common sense tells me he goes RB if we don't get one in FA. If we get Davis - that might change.

Seriously, I can't see them going for a back over a receiver. Don't see that as being necessarily common sense.
McGahee might rate higher than Andre, but I would be surprised to see Willis make it down to our pick if he makes it out. Larry is nowhere near worth a top 9 pick right now no matter how fast his running coach lets him improve. You take the better player.

We'll see. I don't have answers ATP but just stating my opinion. I wouldn't mind the Panthers going back just a bit if they want LJ, so I agree there. Still, I think they go RB first. There is WR depth in this draft. RB depth isn't there past Lee Suggs. He could go in the first IMO. I see RB and WR addressed early in the draft. QB in FA.

What would be very interesting is to see the Panthers move up and NOT go QB but rather grab McGahee. With McGahee you get a great back with everything, truely, everything you could want. Top end speed, power, size, hands, vision, cutback ability, compact downhill running style and a tremendous competitor.

McGahee is the best player in this draft if he is available IMO and would help this offense from day 1. Just my opinion though.

I've reached the point I've decided that the Panthers will gamble in FA on couple spots... they will offer contracts to a few QBs, a few WRs, a few RBs, a few O-Linemen, etc. for a decent value... basically they'll see who wants to come here... once they see who they can pick up it will determine their draft choices... this isn't going to be a clear cut draft until a few weeks before the ACTUAL draft

You still want LJ after seeing what he was able to do against an average Auburn defense yesterday? I think you got a dose of what you will likely see from LJ in the NFL yesterday.

  7. I heard Kiper (hate him or not) on ESPN radio today...he said LJ was a late 1st rounder at best...he needs a good combine to move up.

Some Auburn defensive player said after the game that if LJ were playing for auburn, he'd be playing defense.

LJ sucked it last night. I do not want him.

No opinion on Kiper. He's got a great job.

Disagree with most the LJ comments here. He's a big back with speed. Auburn keyed on him and Auburn is NOT a weak defensive team. Penn St threw too much and went away from LJ . Johnson's a good talent that will improve with time. When he gets more coaching and learns to not run so high he will be a force. Good reciever too. You've got McGahee, Johnson and maybe Suggs and then everyone else. My 2 cents.

    My .02 cents.

    Larry Johnson = Ron Dayne.
