i've been waiting for the big shake-up at fsu and the only way it's going to happen is if they keep losing. sucks that it has to be this way, but it has to.

    this program needs an enema.

i can't wait for butch davis to come coach the noles.

Hey Larry, how long til they fire Bobby? ;)

I think he's still got a year left. I hate to see him go out losing. Or losing more than he's used to.

The sad thing about Bowden and Paterno is that the game really hasn't passed them by. Their BOTH still at the top of their game and can still get their coach on.
What's hurting them is parity. Schools like FSU and PSU are starting have trouble getting the recruits they used to, and it has nothing to do with the coaches respective ages. No, it has more to do with the growing trend of players going to school somewhere where they can make a difference, where the challenge is greater.
Why else would programs like the afore mentioned among others start to slide from dominance to mediocrity and others starting to rise up.
Look at the top twenty, teams that were annually ranked 10-20 are in the top ten and the opposite is true. Hell, Boise State is considering playing in a bowl game other than their hometown Humanitarian Bowl, Fresno State made a legit charge last year, Tulane did it with Shaun King a few years back. The wealth is being spread and it's a good thing.
Unfortunately, Larry, guys like us (you being an FSU fan and me being a PSU fan) our favs are being affected greatly. The way of todays world the "Knee-Jerks" or the powers that be as they are more commonly refered to, will eventually remove two of the greatest men in their feild because of pressure from a bunch of checkbook toting assassins.

coaching is the main reason that fsu is suffering.

other teams are being more successful with their schemes.

bobby wont ever be fired. he'll retire. he's always said that he won't go out a loser, though. he -- like dean -- wants to leave the program in good shape.

Bowden's lost a lot of his assistants over the last few years and that has effected not only the 'Noles coaching but their recruiting as well.

I don't believe he'll go out a winner because he won't find himself with any more two, three win seasons. With that talent it's hard not to find .500 in the ACC but yeah, he's going to have to swallow the ego this time next year and decide what's best.

    Butch Davis?

To Bobby's credit, anyone with an eye for coaching and football can see that the ACC is better than it was the first 5 years FSU was in the ACC. The ACC now has several teams that "slap back"...

I attribute it to that and what someone mentioned about the assistants that have left. (their replacements may not be as good).
