Barnidge will beat them both out in camp.

I don't really care if they tried to make him block better, either he can or can't, but he really needs to be sent downfield more. The way we use 2 TE, it doesn't matter who plays more snaps, the other won't be far behind.

I'm not sure it matters if our TE's are incredible anyway. Its promising that we have him as a weapon, we've seen what he's capable of....being sick then disappearing for 15 games. But he has the speed that King lacks to get deep. In fact none of our TE's in recent history have been as athletic as he has. He seems to go through some mental lapses. Its a wait and see for Barnidge. I'm sure they will all get some time. Maybe we'll have a TE split out.

They definitely seem to want an athletic TE, but then they dedicate so much to the run. Dallas did OK with that, but for a while it seemed like they could pull anything off.

If we went from base and went 5 wide, we could use some athleticism split out, but otherwise unless it were from a 2 TE motion to pull a SLB into space I don't see it being something that's a big deal. Sometimes when you have a TE you split out a lot, you're having to create something that isn't there in base.

And, both this offense and Jake Delhomme are going to be looking deep to receivers, not to TEs. So that might not be a good deep fit anyway.

I could care less about Rosario. I am hoping to see more of Barnidge this year. He is both athletic, and a HUGE target.

combine had him at 6'6, 235. They have Rosario at 6'4 245. I don't see the huge difference.

But, I've noticed a groundswell of Barnidge support from fans. For what?

Positive reports from OTAs, the fact that when we drafted him everyone said he would need a year of development but was an interesting prospect and it's been a year, we haven't seen him suck yet, thus he's potentially a hall of famer.

I'm not ready to send him to the Hall of Fame.

I've seen him in practice and he is one of those guys that I've seen that I like. I think he plays well in space, and makes a HUGE target - that's all.

I've seen plenty of it, and given the handful of snaps he earned, I don't get it. Liking him is fine, but there's a big percentage of the fanbase ready to give him the #2 reps/role. It's not like he's Dwayne Jarrett, so he's not going to have it handed to him.
