CINCINNATI (AP) — James White, a forward who transferred from Florida to Cincinnati last season, received a one-game suspension Thursday for playing in an unsanctioned basketball exhibition.

White violated an NCAA rule by participating in the unsanctioned event in Cincinnati last month. The university reported the infraction to the NCAA, which agreed that a one-game suspension was merited.

White had to sit out for one year after transferring. He will become eligible to play for the Bearcats when the fall quarter ends in December, and will serve the suspension immediately.

Imagine that, Cincinnati self-reporting a violation.

    You got that right, HP!

At Cincinnati, everything is always out in the open. Why do you think so much of the crap that hits the fan ends up in the news?

We could end up sweeping things under the rug like UNCC, Duke, and some of your other favorites down there, but Goin and Huggs don't work that way.

    bj, spin it dj.

accept reality and admit you have more criminals per year than just about any school. you are averaging about 3 arrests per year, and that is not because it's "out in the open" Huggs recruits shady players and pays the price. I promise you there will be another problem before the season starts.

OK, Metro, give me ONE shady thing about either Eric Hicks and Armein Kirkland PRIOR to their recruitment. I'll give you Whaley, but one thing on the other two and I'll shut up...

Matter of fact, Little didn't even have a record prior to his arrival at UC.

That's some perspective 2002! And on the flip side, sometimes good people get caught up in crap. Try telling the rest of your buddies that. I always appreciate a rare dose of objectivity :aok:
