LSU is #1 right now. They won't be if they lose Monday night.

Wouldn't it be cool if the NFL played a bunch of "bowl" games between now and Feb between all teams that finished 8-8 or better? Then GB and NE would play a Super bowl. We could discuss controversys like the Cowboys playing in a better exhibition bowl than the Lions or Falcons because their fans travel better. This way the horrible way of establishing the champion that we know now could be eliminated.

They're unquestionably the best team in college football this season regardless of who wins on Monday.

It would be a better way of crowning a champion and make the NFL regular season mean a hell of a lot more than it does. Remember that 9-7 Arizona made the Super Bowl.

Collin, you've made your point and have stayed consistent with it. Ill agree to disagree with you and continue to hope we get a playoff in the future. In my opinion, its the only way to crown a champion.

    like hell it would.

it would crown the "best" of the two hand picked teams to win "the game".

But it wouldn't crown a champion. That's the difference - you and your bcs fuck buddies want to pick, I mean "crown" the "best" team.

Everybody else wants a champion - the team that wins two, three, four in a row against the best when the chips are down.

and oh yeah - that 9-7 Arizona team? They didn't win the super bowl either did they?

Thanks to a last minute amazing throw by Roethlisberger and catch by Holmes. The number of wild card teams who have won the Super Bowl shows that the NFL regular season means little. Meanwhile the St. Louis Cardinals did win the World Series despite winning only 83 out of 162 regular season games. Playoffs don't determine anything but who was hottest over an arbitrary period at the end of the season.

You're really opening up the floodgates with the points this time. I wonder if Bama's kicker has been practicing his stroke since the last game?
