Note that no one can explain why I'm supposedly wrong in this or any of the other threads where we discussed a college football playoff. They just insist that I am wrong, then insult me and my argument. Until you can point out actual flaws in my perspective or make a logical argument against it, I don't care what you say about me or it. For the same reasons I don't show you respect, I place no value whatsoever on your opinion until you give me a reason to do so. Stupid people disagreeing with you isn't exactly a cause for concern. It's almost evidence of being correct.

Because we have different goals. You see the world as a place where you can whatever you think and you let anyone else say whatever they want (in theory anyway, as sometimes you act like a dick too). You don't actually care about anything you say or think, which partially explains why your reasoning abilities are so underdeveloped.

The topics being discussed actually matter to me. I want to know what's correct, and I want to reject what's clearly wrong. If someone gets their feelings hurt over that, too bad. In order to put feelings over ideas, you need to undermine the value of those ideas. Thinking is not important to someone like you, but it's very important to someone like me. I care about the argument itself and its outcome, which is why I would rather read a profound, insightful post that insulted me than a polite one with no intellectual value.

This isn't about me being mean or anything else. It's about you being offended that someone else would actually prove you wrong. You want an internet where no one judges anyone else and everyone is free to post whatever they want without fear that someone else will point out flaws in their thinking.

 

The coaches are contractually obligated to name the BCS winner the national champion, but the AP is free to select LSU if they choose. Hopefully they do.

Unless they're as big as Sly, it's not likely. And you still don't get it. If I don't have a reason to perceive you as having value, then why would I want your respect? People like you pretend to judge people based on how nice they are, which is pointless. I judge people based on what they've shown themselves capable of. If someone says or writes something I find impressive, then they get my respect whether they're a dick or Mother Theresa.

But once again, this really isn't about me being nice. You're a complete dick too. This is about people being offended and hurt when someone else makes them feel like they're wrong. A lot of people do want an internet where everyone agrees not to judge each other and just let everyone else get away with saying whatever they want, no matter how retarded.



And DaveW, looks like I was completely wrong about the BCS standings. I have no idea how or why it happened, but after OSU having a huge lead in the computers two weeks ago and still having a pretty strong lead last week, they're now behind Alabama in both the computers and the polls. Beating Oklahoma might move them back ahead in the computers, but not by nearly enough to overcome the polls unless the voters do the same thing. I still don't get why the Cowboys are at #5 behind Stanford and Virginia Tech. OSU has played an infinitely better schedule and didn't get blown out in their loss.

 

I just want an internet where I can get tit pictures sent to me without even asking for them. Oh wait...
