You said something, I showed why you were wrong, and then you acted as if you never even saw what I posted. I'm not asking you to thank me, I just want you to stop posting stupid shit, especially after I've exposed why it's stupid. And I think you confused "nobody likes" with "the morons don't like."

My position is simple. A 16 team playoff that is the last two saturdays in december and the first two in january. The networks would be throwing unheard of money to televise this. Automatic berths for conference champs and at-larges to complete. Seed them 1 through 16 based on BCS rankings. You can still play all the meaningless bowls during the week like they do now that only matter to die hard fans bases and gamblers. This tournament would be bigger than march madness...

If the current system "worked" every year and the arguement that every week is a playoff was true, I'd be inclined to agree with you. But what happened to Auburn in 04 has ruined it for me ever since.

And I want you to have respect for people. Everything you post on here is stupid according to everyone else but I don't sit here like some stupid high school kid cussing you out trying to prove my point. Act like a freakin adult and learn some respect. I figured you would have learned your lesson after the whole Sly incident. We have differing opinions about the BCS system and I don't sit here on the other side of a computer screen being a big guy cussing you out for not seeing it my way. You're the one on here that has no respect for anyone and I guess you figure cussing them out will change their mind and they will agree with you. I didn't agree with Franchise(RIP), monstercat(RIP) or Wossa on certain issues but I'm not going to act like a baby and cuss them out for not seeing it my way. GROW UP.

A playoff like this would be huge. I'd even be happy with a 4 or 8 team playoff to begin with.

He won't have respect because he has no respect for himself or others.

What does kind of suck is Alabama gets to sit at home, study tape, heal etc for 5 weeks while LSU has to earn it's spot in the BCS Championship game by beating Georgia. That sucks for LSU as I'm sure the National Championship is what matters and that SEC game is basically Georgia's entire season. Injury potential aside, it makes no sense for the #2 team to get the ride while the #1 team has to play an extra game. What if LSU loses? Does LSU still get to the BCS Championship game? I wonder if OSU beats the shit out of Oklahoma would OSU overtake Bama?

You didn't make an argument in anything you just posted, you just explained what you wanted. The reality is that a 16 team playoff is a horrible way to crown "the best team" because upsets do happen, and single-elimination means that one bad day puts you out. It also lets in a lot of teams that have already proven themselves to be inferior, but can get hot at the right time and win it all. Again, look at Arizona in 2009 where they were one phenomenal catch from winning the Super Bowl despite going 9-7 during the regular season through the worst division in the NFL.

So not only do you greatly harm the importance of the regular season, take away from the appeal of bowls themselves, and have a bunch more kids finishing their season with a loss instead of a win, but you're also promoting a system that is actually much worse at finding and rewarding the "best team" than the current system. And by the way, there would still be all kinds of controversy and bitching about which 16 teams would get in, where they would play, who they'd have to play, etc. Your proposal would make the situation drastically worse, not better.

The reason I asked you to make an argument is to get you think about the actual positives and negatives. Many college football fans just assume that a playoff would be better because they've never actually thought about it. In fact, most humans in general are blind to consequences and have little ability to visualize beyond immediate rewards (maybe we need more kids growing up playing chess). People like you think "hey, a playoff would be fun" without truly thinking about how it would change college football or if it would accomplish particular goals. The two things a playoff really would do are generate money (but the programs & NCAA already have plenty of that) and be exciting (but at the cost of regular season excitement). For casual football fans like B&B who don't really care about the regular season, a playoff would be ideal and I would totally understand him preferring that. But for anyone who really gets into college football, a playoff is the absolute last thing you want.

just chalk this year up as a "shit happens" scenario. IF LSU wins the SEC, they should probably be named co-champs regardless of who they play or what happens in the MNC.
