Different story this year? Probably not.

Charlotte Bobcats vs. Oklahoma City Thunder - Recap - October 16, 2012 - ESPN

Your 7 foot center is 4/10 on 3 pointers, the Cats have no blocks for the game and the Thunder score 60 points in the paint. Charlotte needs a center in the worst way.
I know the Thunder is an excellent team, but letting them shoot 64% for the game is not acceptable.

Isn't Mullens supposed to play more forward than center this season?

If you ask him he`ll probably say he is the shooting guard. He is no Rasheed from the outside so he`d best be learning some post moves.

hey, if you've got a 7 footer who can drain 40% of his threes, that's not a bad thing to have. honestly, i think 3 is kind of outside his range -- he's much, much better a few feet closer (at least, he was last year) and 10 threes is a bit extreme.

as noted, tho, the cats need a classic "solid" center. somebody who can hold their position against other bigs and ideally would have some kind of ability to work from the post.

The Cats shooting percentage has dropped as the preseason progressed. They again appear to be some no-shootin bastids.

    39.5%
    45.1%
    44.0%
    44.4%
    36.3%

Not surprising. In other news, I keep getting Emails about buying tickets for the opener. If you can't even sell out the opener then you need to move.

Does anybody care about this team?

I was obsessed with the Hornets as a kid. I'm slowly getting back into watching the NBA, but I just can't find a reason to cheer for Charlotte. I want to, but there's just no emotional attachment to that franchise. It's not just because they suck, as I've endured that with the Panthers.

my sense is that fans don't want to feel like they care more about the team performing well than the players, the coach, or the owners. the product on the floor the last couple years looks like one designed to suck. why invest yourself in a team that wants to lose?

they really should have tried improve on their sole playoff experience rather then turning their nose up at being a first round exit.
