    I love that filter they put on those flashbacks scenes to try to make them look younger.

    I missed the first and the second, catching the second tonight, but wasnt the Galactica being decommissioned in the very first episode?

    It was in the mini series that launched the show but that got called off when war broke out.

    It was the only ship that hadn't been networked, and the Vipers they brought out of retirement weren't susceptible to that power thingie the Cylons have.

    Yea that is why it was the only battlestar to survive. It is an old and outdated ship that probably has much less firepower than the modern battlestars that were destroyed. Take away the virus's ability to shut down ships and the cylons have a much harder time. A modern battlestar could probably battle a base ship and have a chance of winning but the Galactica does not have much chance.

    Apparently we are going to see a newer battlestar when they do the Pegasus episodes.
