Why did Jeff blake start all of those games then was Redman hurt towards the end of the season?

anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
    >>I have to say I prefer the idea of taking a veteran QB over a rookie.

As with all O positions it's probably preferable that we can get a solid starter and keep our draft options open - including a rookie.

    >>Stewart ...but I'd have to call him my favorite of the 2003 FA crop. He seems like a guy could benefit from a change of scenery.

Most talented, unless someone can fully tap Plummer's 4th Q abilities all game.

    >>Delhomme:
This guy looked great when he had his shot. It was a very short shot, though.

Yeah, it was short. He did look good in one of his two starts in 99 (the second was against us, and we were lighting his D up for playoff possibilities). The problem is that he's not been dynamic in any area, IMO. He's a clean slate as far as getting him to do what you want him to do, but he doesn't have the experience to have gotten past someone scouting him long term.

    >>Detmer:
Looked good when he had hios 30 minute shot, but I can live without the ass-slap touch down dance.

Talent filled short term success. Heart, but heart alone doesn't do it. A WCO master who should be best fit in a system like that, a logical system unlike ours.

    >>Griese:
Reminds me of Collins. Obviously has a drinking problem.

Madd ass baggage. Yes, Sandy, being like Collins in this context is bad - alienating teammates, drinking and lying about it, having problems keeping the ball with his own team rather than the opponents'. But someone'll make do with him and succeed - and that won't be us.

    >>(Plummer) Doesn't really fit the plan Hurney talks about - but you never know. I think he's mostly fake, but I also liken him with Stewart - sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders.

If he could limit the turnovers, he's got a good chance of being the best guy out there. But he's streaky, has problems with his coaches, and wants to call his own plays. You can't be ball control and no huddle.

    >>Man, that's thin. We have to do something, we have to have depth behind Peete that isn't Randy Fasani.

Especially with Fasani not going to Europe. Europe could have at least kept RF on a roll to where he'd be a gamer for one year.

Redman had back problems. They are throwing around a few names up here in B'more outside of the 2 guys they have. Mostly Warner and Stewart, but I expect them to ride it next year with Redman and Blake unless they can do something BIG like move up in this year's draft. Don't see that...
