    just to be contrary, I'm gonna guess yes, he was right...on the grounds that time can't be called in the middle of a play.

    Yes. Despite the injury, the defensive team has the right to tag the runner before time is called. Umpires cannot rule the ball dead until all action on the play has ended. (5.10h)

    Did I mention I like to go to baseball games to see guys in uniforms??? I've been a baseball fan most of my life (yes more than football), but have gotten bored with it the last 5 or so years. I don't know detailed plays/situations, but know that each time gets 3 outs in their part of an inning, they switch, and the other team gets 3 outs, etc.....

    well don't feel bad. i know tons about the game and some of these questions have stumped me.
