    man to be honest, i read the question, then the answer, several times and still dont get it. im glad i aint a ump, i would forget what to do or say. bunch of nit picky rules.

    i agree with that. basically what this one is saying, is anytime you swing AND you get hit, it is a strike. since this was the 2 strike pitch, and his hand was hit instead of the bat, it was called a strike for the strikeout. then to really confuse, it would also be a dead ball, so anything that happened after that was nullified.

    i think i just confused myself.

    thats what i was saying, if he "swung" i.e. third strike......hes out.

    If he pulled the barrell back to take and it hit him its a free base
