So the Yankees and Mets are asking for an extra $450 mil in public bonds to finish their stadiums, on top of the 1.5 bil they have already been granted.

In addition to this, both teams have PSLs required to buy season tickets.

I know the Panthers started this PSL stuff, but to my knowledge it was so they didn't have to ask for public funds. Where does a team get off getting public funds as well as fleecing their fanbase?

    I guess that's a stupid question.

I don't think either request will go over well given the economy and that both teams are spending assloads of money in free agency.

I don't either, Outside the Lines has had some good stories on this stuff recently. The amount of FEDERAL funds that have gone to these two stadiums is mind-boggling alone.

I went to Yankee Stadium last year and was in my seat in 8 minutes (second to last row.) It had escalators and everything. Was it somewhat a dump? A little, but the sheer feeling of history overwhelmed that.

Point is, they didn't need a new stadium. And BoA needs escalators.

It's all pretty sickening when you think about it. PSLs + public funds + federal funds for billionaires to build a stadium, it's a rape.
