Sux. been a customer since it was NCNB in Winston-Salem, then then consolidated into Nations Bank, nthen turned into BOA. Anyway, fees out the ass forever, terrible service and rude personnel. Switching checking, savings, and IRA's all over to 1st Citizens next week.

Take your money to a CU. Still the best banking deal for average Joe.

I moved all my personel and Business accounts to South Community and a Credit union two years ago. It works well. BA is just a bunch of thieves. Cannot wait till someone waxes them.

BofA isn't a bunch of thieves...they are just a huge bank who doesn't make most of their money from Deposit accounts. They do that banking because they have to, and it gives them a shot to upsell other money making products. They don't make much money off average joe with $1000 balances and a 401k. So they charge fees to offset.

If average Joe wins the lottery, suddenly and needs a place to park that $141MM, I can guarantee he can be fee-free in his DDA account. It's not personal, it's just that's how their business model works. When you slam BofA, keep in mind that they are probably bankrolling your CU and community bank..

Do not need an associate account to avoid fees. I have been with BofA for just as long and have never paid a fee. I do not have $141 million in the bank either.
