Wierd thing, the Series started on HBO the Sunday before 9/11, and it was a very disturbing account of war, and I spoke with Janelle about how I was glad that my generation hadn't been involved in something so terrible.

Yes they don't pull any punches about war, and it give you a glimpse at how bad it is to be at war. I think it brought up some bad memories for my Dad who lost both his brothers.

Well I'm on the 3rd DVD now. It's more bloody and violent than I thought, I'm surprised my sister even sent it. Great depiction of the war though. So far I would recommend it to anybody who is interested in the history of WWII and tells a good story. I have to drink a beer or 2 while I'm watching it or it makes me a little squeamish.

I'm up to the 7th episode and its great. I like the way they tried to cover all the bases as far as every aspect and different things that happened to different people.:)

The theme music gives me chill bumps and brings a tear to my eye.

BoB is an excellent series! I can't endorse it enough. Some of the most powerful WWII filming I've seen. I loved every bit of it. The music will stay with you for a long time. After you've watched all of the series, you will become really attached to the guys who fought over there.

I agree -- if you liked this movie, definitely read the book. I had read it before the movie, so I had a good idea of what I was watching. It stays pretty true to the book. And while you're at it, read all of Stephen Ambrose' books -- DDay, BofB, Undaunted Courage.
