I just got a 6 DVD set of this which says it is an HBO exclusive. I've watched the first DVD and so far it seems pretty good, it's about World War II. The only thing that made it hard to swallow at first is David Schwimmer (Ross on Friends) as the hardass platoon leader. I kept on expecting Rachel to pop out anytime, once I got past that it seems OK so far. Anybody else see this? I got it as a Christmas present from my sister, just wondered if anybody had any thoughts that had seen the whole series.

Great series. Really hits you at the end of it. SS, don't worry about Ross. He's only in it for the first few episodes.

  5. I saw the first few on HBo when they had like 4 episodes back to back. I wish I had caught them all, but never did and didn't want to see them out of order. I was gonna rent them, but the damned things are only 2 per disk. Bastards. They could easily have put three or 4 or even done multi-disk rentals. The sopranos has 3 or 4 on each disk...

Most of them are at Kazaa. I was impressed with the series.

This is one of the best renditions of any book ever. It captures not only the essence of Ambroses writing but puts onto film a very realistic aspect of what WWII was like. Two Thumbs up IMO.

It's a great series, SS! Your sis hooked you up. The Bastogne segment was my favorite part. Definitely great ending too. That series really makes you feel proud of the sacrifices and the bravery by which our grandparents displayed during the most horrible era in the worlds history. Tell your grandpappy THANKS if he's still around and endured that shit. Both of my grandpa's did and both died before I could tell 'em.
