That was pretty funny. Not exactly my kind of thing but if he is reaching people then good for him.

So THAT'S what DC Talk is up to these days....

Lord, That's cheesy. Not that this is a serious example, but since we're sorta on the subject. I think the reason "contemporary Christian" music isn't as popular as it could be is that 95% of it is straight crap musically. The writers are more concerned with the message than the music. While the message is certainly important, it's music, not a sermon, the music should be the primary focus.

Contemporary Christian Music not popular? Sales of CCM has soared over the last few years (well over 100% . . . Might be 2 or 3 times that, I can't remember exactly where the number came from). I think a lot of parents growing up now want their kids to hear good clean music vs. what's out there today (death metal, rap music glorifiying sex/drugs/loose living/etc.).

I guess what I'm saying is that it could be much more popular. Look at Country music... Much of that has religious themes, but it's not "religious music". The sales of those songs blow the CC songs away.

And think about it. CC sales are "artificially" high because of just what you said. So many people will buy the stuff just because it's Christian, not because it's any good musically. DC Talk is the perfect example. They were the "coolest" thing in the genre at the time so they sold a ton of records, but if you take them out from the Christian umbrella, they were crap.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm glad that there's CC music out there... I just wish it was a lot better.

just a couple that have spilled into secular.
You're right, more could. I enjoy a lot of it. Concerts are good.
