    >>>The question is whether you can keep the students off the goal posts every time they beat a worthy opponent

I really don't like when people point that we tear down gaol posts...we are not the only college that has done that. As a matter of fact...i remember a game where NC State did the same thing.

To me...this is just a way of trying to negate what ECU has done on the field. Yes we tore down the goal post...and when I say "we"...i wasn't involved...when we beat Miami....yep...Miami in Raleigh. But what you might not realize...prior to the game, ECU had already purchased the goal posts in case that happened. We didn't invent the practice, I don't think its necessary to do after a win, and I think ECU bashers need to come up with something a bit more than..."they tore down goal posts"

By the way..I remember a few times that Franklin Street had a few riots after games.....

so exactly how much crack did you smoke before you "remembered" this?

UNC has played Least Carolina 9 times. The Heels have a record of 7-1-1 against the butt pirates.

please come back with more memories, I could use more laughter in my life. :lol2:

Aw yes, home coming! I remember when Miami scheduled us for there home coming in 96:

"Marcus Crandell threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns and
East Carolina forced six turnovers in a surprisingly easy 31-6
    victory over 12th-ranked Miami. "

Not to mention we beat them the last time we played them too and they were ranked 12th that year (1999).

I see nothing but positive coming out of this program in the future, we are finally rid of the slumping Logan. We have a new coach that seems to have all kinds of recruiting power. He has already brought in a Fla. transfer for the 2004 season at QB. Carolina finally has the guts to show up in G-Vegas after all these years. Things are looking up and anyone would be a fool to doubt that!!

ECU vs Proposed 11 ACC Teams

    All-time
    23 - 51 - 1 .318

    Last 10 Years
    6 - 10 .375

    Overall Record Last 10 Years
    64 - 52 .551

Good years in '96 & '99 when the Pirates went 5-0 vs ACC. Looks like they are due again soon on the 4 to 5 year plan.

I wasn't talking about UNC..I was referring to the state of North Carolina....as we were the top program....

As that 7-1-1 record....if you had been brave enough to play us from 1991 to now...that record would be different ..wouldn't it?
