    No one mentioned the New York Times article about them cheating by putting them in "independent studies classes" so their football players make better grades. Here's part of the syllabus on ESPN.com. I'd assume it's a joke, but some of the stuff on their is actually true for a fact.

    This has been going on for years...

    I arrived on the Plains many moons ago and graduated 17 yrs ago. It was happening then under Pat Dye, and he still lives in the area (Lake Martin, 30 mi NW). Easy classes, Sewell Hall (best Chef's and meals there, I worked it one summer, NICE!), and all the Godfather's Pizza on West Magnolia you can stand. Then again, all of these inducements are necessary, because nightlife is limted to the War Eagle Supper Club and an occasional 100 mi trip to the Blue Flame, Cheetah, Gold Rush, or Magic City. It didn't help that Auburn was a Vanilla U. at the time either.
