Jair Jurrjens is having discomfort in his pitching shoulder. He is going for MRI this week. EEEK, that's not what I wanted to hear with camps opening this week.

MRI was negative.Showed some inflammation, but no tears or structual damage. He should be good to go.The Braves could not afford to lose him. They stole him from the Tigers.Kinda similar to when they got Smoltz from the Tigers.

The two hottest players after the 1st week of camp Rookie Jason Heyward and Troy Glaus. Heyward is making it awful hard to leave him off the roster. Glaus if he is healthy could be a major steal for the Braves. He is capable of hitting 25-30 homers. I know, it's early but he looks like he's back.

Heyward jacked a 420' shot in his first ab today.

It's scary with all the raving about this kid but when you watch him play it's understood. 5 tool talent and the mental makeup of a player who must overachieve to stay in the bigs. I don't recall a player since Ken Griffey Jr, Barry Bonds, or AROD, who broke in with this kind of attention and praise.

Oh I agree with that, but damn, the kid is 20. I sure hope he is the next cornerstone of the Braves and can do even more than Chipper did/does. I can't help but think back of the hype of Andruw Jones, 5 tool talent, etc. and pretty damn close to the hype of this kid. While AJ was a good player, he never got to the top tier imo.

I think you make a good point but I think Heyward is much more receptive to coaching than Jones was. He has better plate discipline at the age of 20 than AJ ever had too. I can hit a curve ball better than Andruw Jones.
