By doing so they lose their 1st round pick and a sandwich pick too. They have offered both Soriano and Gonzales arbitration so they could recover those picks if they don't sign. My guess is they would like to keep Soriano but have replaced Gonzalez with Wagner.

I won't miss Gonzalez. His stats look awesome but I always remember every time he came in as being an adventure.

I agree, when he came in it tempted me to drink. Even when he got a save or a hold, it was a bumpy ride.

Braves going with an old bullpen. Wagner age 39 and Saito age 40...I thought they tried this 2 years ago with Glavine and Smoltz in the rotation, it didn't work so well. Get out the Viagra and Ben Gay.

Soriano accepts arbitration so the Braves have a lot of arms at the back of the bullpen. Saito, Morelan, Wagner, Soriano. It looks like they might be getting ready to get a bat for an arm.

I hate to say this, but I had a feeling all year long that our bats would cool off in October. Especially when they were struggling in April to get them going.

Braves will make a deal for a hitter or two before the season starts. Adrian Gonzales from San Diego would be great but it's not likely. Last I heard the Angels would like to get either Lowe or Vasquez but it might take a 3rd team to get involved to get the stick the Braves need.

Braves trade Javier Vasquez to the Yankees for Melky Cabrera ? Some prospects involved but on the surface the Braves got screwed. Melky is not a lot better than Garret Anderson. I hope he gets better between now and April.

Not sure what the Braves were thinking with this trade. Doesn't appear to improve the team that much and I don't doubt they could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. Cabrera? <shaking head>

Hell, I think it made the team worse.
