Wasn't it strange that after Baseball cracked down on steroid use him and the former catcher Lopez couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.:56:

If they sign Andruw they need to have their heads checked. I'm sorry the Braves haven't signed the couple of players they wanted but let's just not sign a guy whose best days have past him by just to sign somebody. Andruw has eaten his way out of the league.. I rather remember him like he was than watch him as an overweight slob that couldn't hit a softball.

If Andruw wants to come back to the point that he signs on the cheap, why not bring him back? I think his problems are mental as much as anything, and plenty of outfielders have continued to have success after getting fat. I'm all for bringing him back and seeing if you can get something out of him. They could certainly use some more power in the lineup.

If Andru comes back he could possibly be a steal IMO. The investment will be small and the reward could be huge. Braves need some help and they have tried but failed to get it through free agency and trades. Sign him to a deal that is incentive based. If he gets his head together the guy could hit 30 homers. I'm serious about the weight clause though.

You can probably kiss his defensive range goodbye though, unless he loses the weight.

Note I said probably, I didn't bother to look up whether his fielding pct declined in his shitty years in LA as well.

Well I don't know that you even necessarily put him back in center. Atlanta needs a leftfielder too.

If Smoltz ends up in Boston, it's going to put me over the edge. The thought of him wearing a uniform other than the Braves makes me want to scream.
