Look at the guys he's working with. You can't win pennants when three of your starters are pulled off the scrap heap. The budget constraints forced Schuerholz to trade away the team's better pitching prospects over the years, and now the farm system doesn't have anyone left who is ready to contribute. Meanwhile he isn't allowed to pay for any free agent pitchers worth a damn either.

Too bad that TW didn't sell the team to Arthur Blank. He at least will spend money to try and put a winner on the field. Looks like the new owners will be as tight with the $$$ as TW was...

Wickman getting cut was not a total shock other than the timing. At this time of year with rosters expanding in a week you would think the Braves would wait till the off season. I guess Cox has had enough, can't blame him for that.

They designated him for assignment. If someone is dumb enough to claim him, the Braves can possibly work a trade.

Wickman did it to himself. He wouldn't take part in any conditioning drills the other Braves pitchers are expected to do. He refused to move to a set-up role when he struggled. I have also heard he wasn't the most popular guy in the club house. He will fit in nicely with the Yankees.

I need help! I just refuse to give up on the Braves this year although the performance so far on this road trip to Cincinnatti and St Louis has put a dent or two in my hopes. I am seeking emotional help and some sense of reality.
