he went something like 5 for 35 on this last road trip and the team lost series to the Nats and Sox. im not saying its entirely his fault but those hacks on Sunday were pathetic. i've coached 10 year olds with better mechanics. but what bothers me is that he displays a lack of focus. he appears to be a slacker at times. that is what really pisses me off about his game.

He has a pretty laid back manor about him. What irks me is he has been according to reports, very hesitant to accept advice from Terry Pendleton. Pendelton would like to see Jones go the other way some instead of being a total pull hitter. Some of his hacks this year have pissed me off too. Falling down or going to one knee swinging so hard is not acceptable in the Major Leagues. I look at it this way, add 20 points to his batting average because he plays that well in center. Let's hope he sees the light before the season is over.

Gonzalez out for the year. Do the Pirates have another left-handed pitcher they would like to trade?

Braves are starting to tank. Chipper is being a bitch and won't play through the pain. That lineup sucks without Chipper especially with Andruw Jones playing so bad.

It sure like Smoltz was badly hurt on Tuesday night, now he says he will not miss a start. Can't afford to have him on the DL for any length of time. I'm a little worried about him being 40 and with his competitive attitude. I just hope he don't push it and try to come back too soon. No chance that the Braves make the post-season without Smotlz.

James has looked good lately. Cormier got shelled by the Cubs his first time back.

Losing series to the likes of the Marlins and Nats can come back to haunt you at the end of the year when you are trying to get that wild card spot.
